When booking accommodation with Afton House you (‘guests’) agree to the following terms and conditions.

  • The booking deposit is non-refundable once paid – guests will receive an automated confirmation email after initially making the booking. A second confirmation email will notify guests that the deposit has been paid/accepted and the booking successfully processed. Cancellations made prior to receiving the second confirmation email will incur no charges.
  • Cancellations made within 48 hours of check in will incur a fee (50% of total tariff) and cancellations made within 12 hours of check in will incur a fee (80% of total tariff). All charges are made via Visa or MasterCard used to secure booking1.
  • If guests fail to cancel booking and do not check-in (No Show) then they will be charged full tariff via Visa or MasterCard used to secure booking
  • Two night minimum stays will apply over certain peak periods. Guests will be informed when making the booking (over the phone) or by email shortly after making the booking (online bookings).
  • Afton House reserves the right to refuse online bookings. Bookings will be confirmed with an email (not the automated email received after making a booking).
  • Full/Remaining payments are due at check-in and can be made via Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Eftpos or Cash.
  • A 1.5% surcharge is taken on payments made via Visa or Mastercard. Payments made via American Express will incur a 3.65% surcharge.
  • Check-in time is after 2 pm with no check-in after 11 pm.
  • Check-out time is 11 am. Later departure can be negotiated when booking2.
  • Afton House is strictly smoking free. If accommodated persons are found smoking within the house they will be charged maintenance fees or asked to leave immediately with no refund of tariff3.
  • Due to hygiene and health reasons, pets of any kind are not permitted on the premises.
  • Guests are encouraged to keep loud activities to a minimum and to not disturb other guests or neighbours.
  • Any damage or loss caused by guests will incur replacement or maintenance fees.
  • All guests are responsible for own belongings. Afton House is not liable for any loss or damage to items belonging to guests.
  1. Times periods for cancellation free of fees may differ for peak periods. Guests will be notified when receiving booking confirmation.
